Ya’ll Wanna Hear About it …

Gotta get the Goals.png

I did it! I hosted and taught my first free masterclass yesterday and it was amazing - people registered, technology cooperated, people were there live, I felt the energy … It was all great!

So, today’s blog is all about that - It’s about the process and journey of doing something new! I’m always talking and encouraging you all about setting goals, going after goals, and working on mindset … This is a mini behind the scenes view of what I went through from deciding to create the masterclass through the execution of it, as well as the limiting beliefs I overcame within myself, and what we talked about in the masterclass.

Let’s get into it …

How Did We Get Here?

First, let's talk about what made me even create the masterclass.

You might have noticed by now, like mentioned above, that I’m all about accountability, mindset work, goal setting, to do lists, planning, just all of that … But, just because I like it doesn’t mean that it’s something that you guys want or need. If I create what I like but not what is needed, can I really expect people to show up and learn?!?

It all started with questions … asking you all what you wanted to hear about. You all choose goals and goal setting over the other choice which was mindset. That’s fine, goals and goal setting still involves mindset in some aspect, so we still were able to talk a little bit about mindset when it came to sticking to your goals and obstacles that could come up in overcoming your goals.

Now, once I put out there that I was going to host this masterclass and knew what you were looking for, some nervousness and I guess you could say fear started to set in.  And that’s when practicing what I preach and teach came into play …

Create a Process & Trust the Process

I’ve never done this before … I’ve spoken before on other platforms, locations, events, etc. But, I’ve never put together my own event for me to speak at. What was I getting myself into?!? How was I going to do this?!?

It was time to learn as I went.

It was time to choose a date … once again, I brought you all into this process … if the entire point was to create and present something that you want, I want you to attend! Doing it on the weekend, instead of after work, won on dates and then we chose a time range.

Then the real hard part … the part that was going to make this thing official … Choosing a date! Once I had a date and announced a date … there was no longer any backing out … It would be out there. I would have to do it.

We’re halfway through April and I hadn’t chosen a date yet … but I know what was happening in May for me.  Looking at May I knew it was busy … I had a trip the first weekend in May, my birthday, and Memorial Weekend … so we were left with 2 weekends to choose from. So, I chose one … and chose the earlier of the 2 to make sure it wasn’t put off, that I didn’t procrastinate anymore!

It’s Ok to Learn as You Go

The entire process from start (the idea) to execution (the delivery) was a learning process for me!

I had to think about how you would register for the masterclass and how I was going to present it. I knew I wanted it to be live … I knew I wanted you to be able to ask questions and interact … and I knew that I wanted to try to have a recording for those that weren't able to attend live. And so … the research began …

Once I got that all worked out … I knew I wanted to create a handout, a workbook, or something for you to use during and even after the masterclass.

I mean, if you know me, you know that I’m a planner … so yea, I like structure and for there to be a flow to it. That means we need something to follow along with.

But also, if you know me … you know I go off script a lot. I mean, I’m a lawyer, I’m used to being in court and having to think on my feet, pivot with new information, etc. … So don’t tie me down to saying a specific thing a specific way … so filling in the blanks probably wasn’t the best way for me to go.

I knew I could get the point across, but the way that I planned to get it across, might not be the way that I actually presented it, based on the questions and interactions that occurred.

So, that's what I created.

It’s Time for Class ...

The masterclass is announced, the registration link is live, registrations are coming in, workbook creation is underway, and the hosting platform is all set up …

All the behind the scenes is coming together … I'm excited but also a little nervous, no lie. The anticipation is there … Because I want to do this so bad,  I want to make an impact, but  I want to make sure that what I was putting out there would help. It’s about more than me!

My decision to become a Life & Accountability Coach was because of others. Because of what they saw in me, what they got out of me, and how they saw me presenting myself. So, once I made the decision to do this … It wasn’t about me … It was about making changes and an impact in the lives of others.

And I hope and I pray that I did that …

I love what I do … Doing this masterclass reminded me of that, not that I doubted it.

The energy that went into creating this masterclass, the energy I felt when I pushed the button to start the stream, the energy that I felt and received from the comments during the live, and even the messages from those after that were on live was amazing

Oh … you missed class?!? You didn’t register …

Here’s what we covered in the masterclass:

  • What is a goal

  • Importance of goals

  • How to set goals

  • Having a big enough why

  • How to stick to goals

  • Dealing with obstacles along the way

  • Creating a reward system

  • Creating deadlines for goals

  • Having too many goals

  • Knowing where to focus on your goals

We were able to cover and talk through a lot … the masterclass was a success!

Thank You!

Thank you … Thank you … Thank you!

Thank you to everybody who registered. Thank you to everybody who showed up. Thank you to everyone who participated on live.

Thank you to everyone who shared the posts, the flyer, the event.

If you registered but you weren't able to attend live, the recap email went out this morning with the recording, because technology was out friend! (It also has a post event recap survey … please complete it)

I thank you for the support, the motivation, and any encouragement to help me to show up and to do this thing!

But … Now it's on you!

The whole point of the masterclass was we “Gotta Get these Goals” so let’s go get them!

Now Go, Get those Goals!

I believe that I’ve given you the tips, tricks, and tools that you need in order to set and achieve goals, because it doesn't have to be hard!

But, that doesn’t mean that you have to go at it alone!

You got a little taste of what it can be like to work with me … If you want to talk to me about how we can work together, to help you set and achieve your goals, reach out or book a call.

In working with me as your Life & Accountability Coach, it will come down to a couple things: mindset, goal setting, and accountability. I can and will provide you with each of these things in working with me … and it will be individualized to what it is that you need!

I want you to go after the things, do the things, and accomplish things that you sat out to accomplish in life. Don't let fear, procrastination, discouragement, or anything else keep you from your goals … If anything let it propel you toward your goals!

Now let’s do this … Change your perspective, change your mindset, and change your life … We Gotta get these Goals!
