Your Reset Button
💡Protect Your Energy, Celebrate Your Progress, and Build Momentum That Lasts
Let’s get something straight: You’re not lazy. You’re overloaded.
And no, you don’t need another app or color-coded to do list, what you need is a reset.
It's the last day of the month, we’re closing out May, and for a lot of people, this is the moment where overwhelm creeps in hard.
The plans you had at the start of the month? Foggy.
Your calendar? Overbooked.
Your energy? Gone.
But, what if I told you that momentum isn't built from hustle, it’s built from strategy, clarity, and boundaries?
I'm sure by now you know, but if not I'll remind you: I'm not here for the hustle and grind, but that doesn't mean that I won't do the hard work to get done what needs to be done.
Stop focusing on trying to do more, instead focus on doing what actually works.
Now, in order to do this, you have to first identify and understand what it is that actually works. Your mindset around the need to have everything "be" perfect, coupled with your lack of boundaries, and not properly resetting for the month is why you stay stuck.
Well, let's talk about your reset button.
🔁 Hit Reset: Mini Moments, Major Shifts
You don’t need to do a full life overhaul every month. But, what you do need is a system of small, intentional resets.
Here’s how I reset:
Daily: creating a daily to do list and time blocking out my day each night
Weekly: doing a braindump, making my to do list, and updating my calendar
Monthly: reflecting on the month, brainstorming ideas for what's to come, and creating an overview of my month
Even during weeks where I’m in trial, I still plan my month.
Why? Because I have a framework that works.
It’s not about the time. It’s about the system.
Like this week, I was in trial, and while the trial ended a day earlier than planned, I had planned my week with the thought that it would take until Friday like we originally planned.
So, when had I extra hours in the day with longer lunches, and had an extra day in my week, I definitely worked to capitalize off them.
Being able to not only create, but use, this time of momentum isn't just by happenstance or magic, it's the mini and micro decisions that helped.
🔒 Protect your Energy: Boundaries Are the Real Productivity Hack
You cannot build momentum, if you’re constantly depleted.
You cannot stay consistent, if you’re constantly overcommitted.
That’s where boundaries come in, they aren't limits, but they're life support.
Three boundaries you need to set, like yesterday:
🕒 Time Boundaries: Create focus times and focus windows so that you can end work at a set time each day.
Stop giving your calendar space away like candy, but block out time if you need to focus. If you don't set a cut off time, don't be surprised when appointments are set right before closing and you find yourself working late.
⚡ Energy Boundaries: Choose your yes’s intentionally, instead of giving away your time or energy all willy nilly.
Not everything, or everyone for that matter, deserves your energy. If you find that saying yes drains you, then it delays you and distracts you. If your focus isn't on what, or even where, you should be, then you're saying yes to the wrong things.
📉 Capacity Boundaries: Stop overfilling your calendar like a it's some badge of honor to be the busiest person.
Your capacity isn't up for negotiation. When your calendar is full, what does that look like in terms of your time to implement or execute, the quality of the work being produced, and your mood as you're doing it? Just because you can do it, doesn’t mean you should do it.
✨ Know this: protecting your peace IS productivity. Point. Blank. Period.
🏆 Celebrate to Accelerate: Small Wins Build Big Confidence
I'm pretty sure that you’re doing more than you give yourself credit for.
And the reason you don’t feel like you’re progressing is because you haven’t paused to honor what’s working.
Let’s shift that right now.
Stop thinking perfection is the goal, it's a trap.
Making consistent progress is the actual power move.
Spend some time to list out your wins and what worked this month, even if it feels small.
Maybe you:
👏🏾 Said no to things that drained you. Win.
👏🏾 Implemented boundaries and said no. Win.
👏🏾 Used your planner for 3 days this week. Win.
👏🏾 Stuck to a daily 15 minute routine of sorts. Win.
👏🏾 Logged off work on time one day this month. Win.
→ It counts. So, count it.
Progress over perfection, always.
Don’t just reflect to judge. Reflect to build momentum.
✔️ Reset, Reflect, Rebuild: You Don’t Need to Start Over
Your systems need to support your reality, not this ideal or fictitious version of yourself.
